Meet Our Staff

Our Senior Pastor, Curt Bidwell, came to Tumwater in June of 1997. He previously served ten years as the associate pastor of youth ministries in Tacoma at Southside Baptist Church.

Pastor Curt received Christ as Savior and Lord at the age of 9 through the ministry of First Baptist Church in Wenatchee, WA. His family later moved to the Bothell area and attended Bethany Baptist in Kenmore. During this time the Lord prompted him to pursue a lifestyle of ministry. He began to develop skills in ventriloquism and gospel magic, which he used throughout his high school and college years in Sunday School rallies, Bible camps, Vacation Bible Schools and other special events. This has also given him opportunity to minister across the United States, Brazil, Mexico and Europe.

Pastor Curt graduated from Western Baptist College (now Corban University) in Salem, OR and attended Northwest Baptist Seminary in Tacoma, WA. He and Kristi were married in June of 1985 and have two sons, Coby and Riley.

Our Youth Pastor is John D'Alelio who, together with his wife Allison, have been a

part of our ministry since 2005. In addition to his responsibilities at the church John is a graduate of the Family Studies Program at Corban University and is the Men's Ministry Coordinator at Care-Net Pregnancy Center. John & Alli welcomed their first child, Kylie Marie in February 2010!

Office Manager,
Karen Throgmorton has graciously served FirstBaptistChurch since February of 1995.

Custodian,
Janet Duffy has cared for our facilities since January of 1997.
