Building Better Communities

what to expect

Where are we located?

        405 East X Street Tumwater WA, 98501

What is our service like?

Our services last for about an hour and fifteen minutes. We sing for a bit, have some announcements, and then spend time studying the Bible.

The songs are a mixture of older hymns and newer songs. We like variety.

Our pastor, or guest speaker, teaches on a portion of the Bible. The goal of his preaching is not to just tell you “what” to believe or “how” to act but to help you know Jesus better and to understand His love for you.

Service time?

Our service begins at 11am and ends around 12:15pm.

Where do my children go?

We provide nursery and toddler care. You are not expected to hand your children over. We just want to help you  out and let you focus on the service.

During the morning service we provide a program called 252 Basics. It is a fully interactive, dramatic program  that teaches children from Kindergarten through 5th grade. We help equip your children to “make the wise  choice”, to “trust God”, and to “treat others the way they would like to be treated”. This program is designed to  help parents train their children. We want to partner with you.

Am I expected to dress a certain way?

Nope. We have no expectations. Some of us wear jeans and others a sports coat. Our children workers have  even dressed up like soccer players and circus headmasters.

Are you one of those "weird" Baptists?

No we are not. They weird us out just as much as they weird you out. We all have our quirks but you will find a  place of encouragement and grace here at First Baptist.
