Meet Our Staff

Our Senior Pastor, Curt Bidwell, came to Tumwater in June of 1997. He previously served ten years as the associate pastor of youth ministries in Tacoma at Southside Baptist Church.

Pastor Curt received Christ as Savior and Lord at the age of 9 through the ministry of First Baptist Church in Wenatchee, WA. His family later moved to the Bothell area and attended Bethany Baptist in Kenmore. During this time the Lord prompted him to pursue a lifestyle of ministry. He began to develop skills in ventriloquism and gospel magic, which he used throughout his high school and college years in Sunday School rallies, Bible camps, Vacation Bible Schools and other special events. This has also given him opportunity to minister across the United States, Brazil, Mexico and Europe.

Pastor Curt graduated from Corban University (Western Baptist College) in Salem, OR and attended Northwest Baptist Seminary in Tacoma, WA. He and Kristi were married in June of 1985 and have two sons, Coby and Riley.

Our Interim Youth Pastor is Coby Bidwell who graduated from Corban University in 2010 with a Health/Science major and double minor in Bible and Cross Cultural Communications. He has a passion for missions having served on multiple short-term ministry trips including Mexico, China, St. Lucia & Nicuragua.

Office Manager,
Karen Throgmorton has graciously served First Baptist Church since February of 1995.

Custodian,
Janet Duffy has cared for our facilities since January of 1997.
